The latest version of Sage 200 is available now and has massively expanded its capabilities.

Sage 200 Professional 2021 R1 launched recently to provide users with ‘flexible access to functionality and key business data’ in its ‘largest update to date in terms of moving more features to the cloud.’

What’s new?

This latest Sage 200 edition has three main improvements; new web-enabled screens to allow more flexible working, an improved API offering for better customisation, and updates on the Sage Migration Tool.

By adding new web-enabled screens, users can work anywhere through a web browser, eliminating the need for desktop apps so that you’re not tied to an office PC.

Sage states that 67% of UK businesses are looking to adopt cloud working over the coming year and the greater flexibility of Professional 2021 R1 supports this new way of working that businesses need.

The expansion of Sage’s API offering in this upgrade also gives developers more scope to customise interfaces and forms, and enhance applications.

This newest version of Sage 200 continues to allow users to move between Sage 50cloud and Sage 200 variants easily with more updates on its migration tools so your business is up-to-date using the best solution.


New web-enabled screens

The most eye-catching new feature is the addition of more web-enabled screens that weren’t available before in a web browser.

Sage 200 Professional 2021 R1 includes 31 new web forms that can be used without a desktop application so you can manage your accounts, stock, and payments anywhere on any web-enabled device.

Sage explains that the update means you’re ‘able to use a plethora of web-based enabled devices to access your data and ensure you aren’t tied to the desktop.’

The new additional features provide you new and agile usability in these areas:

Sales Ledger

  • View, amend and create existing customer accounts
  • Check full customer records and contact information including aged balance details
  • See transactions of a specific customer with the customer transaction enquiry screen
  • Enter sales invoices, credit notes, receipts and payments
  • Make customer price enquiries for the price on particular products
  • Maintain customer status e.g. put a customer on hold


Purchase Ledger

  • View, add and amend supplier details
  • Keep track of purchase payments, receipts, invoices, and credit notes
  • Maintain supplier account statuses
  • Authorise supplier transactions while you’re away from your desk on any web browser


Stock Control Ledger

  • View stock item history
  • Check item balances
  • See monthly trading figures on particular items
  • Add and edit stock locations 
  • Record stock location transfers
  • Manage stock takes on a tablet or mobile phone – removing paper and possible human error



  • Record payments and receipts in the bank account list
  • View transaction history of your accounts
  • See movement of funds between accounts with the Inter Account Transfer feature
  • Choose the amount and which account funds move to and from


Nominal Ledger 

  • View all transactions posted to a particular nominal code in the Transaction Enquiry Screen
  • See whether a transaction affects the Cashbook account
  • Check transactions originating from a trader transaction
