JRC Consulting is a Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy based in Exeter, with additional offices in Biddeford and Plymouth, and Swindon. The firm specialises in providing innovative engineering solutions and has expanded rapidly from 2 to 22 employees over the last six years.
Navigating growth challenges
As JRC Consulting grew, their IT systems struggled to keep pace with their expanding needs. Their previous IT provider had set up infrastructure that was outdated and insufficient for their operations.
Tim Rivett, Director at JRC Consulting, said, “Things weren’t set up very well for our business. We grew quite rapidly, and the IT systems that we had at the start weren’t suitable and weren’t updated to the latest technologies.”
Compounding these issues, JRC Consulting faced difficulties with previous cloud-based solutions, including a significant loss of files that had caused operational disruptions. What’s next?
Looking to the future, JRC Consulting is considering implementing Timewade’s Intune, which promises additional cost savings and improved operational efficiency.
Additionally, we have conducted a cybersecurity workshop for the JRC team, aimed at bolstering their defences against potential online threats. Tim remarked, “The workshop was really helpful, especially for staff who are less familiar with these types of scams. It gave them a lot of confidence.”
