The role

As Business Technology Consultant, your primary role will be to manage your client’s technology strategy, using our proven process to provide input and guidance, steering your clients to make the right long-term decisions about their technology.

Regularly visiting clients for onsite meetings, you will provide recommendations and client proposals, based on technology system reviews. You will be confident in getting to grips with a varied client base, each with its own challenges and priorities, you’ll thrive on partnering with different stakeholders in different environments.

At Timewade we use a hybrid working model, once you have completed your induction period you will be given the option to work from home for 3 days per week. The choice of which days will be yours. You will be provided with a full home office setup consisting of a desk, chair and all the tech you need to be productive at home.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct quarterly technology steering meetings with each of your clients.
  • Learn and understand the client’s business through technology steering meetings and your own knowledge gathering exercises.
  • Creation, management and ownership of client Technology Roadmap, Technology Costs sheet & equipment lifecycle documentation for each of your clients.
  • Promote the benefits of our standards and best practices to all clients.
  • Work with the technical team to scope new proposals.
  • Increase client productivity by identifying areas to become more efficient through use of technology.
  • Consult with third parties to compare and evaluate technology solutions, consolidating the information and providing ROI to the business.
  • Provide advice and training to end-users, 1 to 1 and in small groups.
  • Develop close working relationships with all clients to ensure they value the Technology for Success Service and get the most out of their technology.
  • Build excellent client relationships and communicate effectively at all levels within a business.
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to client needs and objectives

To be considered, you must:

  • Have a demonstrable high level of IT literacy and a passion for technology and how it can be harnessed to enhance business performance.
  • Have a minimum of two years’ proven work experience as either a, pre sales consultant, technical account manager, technical consultant, solutions consultant or have three years proven work experience in a 2nd line support or 3rd line support technical role supporting small businesses ready to move into a technical account management role.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical end-users in simple terms.
  • Have sound understanding of Microsoft Windows software and server operating systems, server hardware, active directory, Microsoft 365, & general disaster recovery solutions, security software, hosted telephony, virtualisation, and security.
  • Have an understanding of technology best practices
  • Be committed to personal development and willing to undertake training as required by the business
  • Be client focused, methodical, flexible and reliable.
  • Be committed to quality and excellence

  • Have a full UK driving license, your own transport & live within a commutable distance of the Exeter area.

The ideal candidate will also have the following desirable skills:

  • Fundamental Azure knowledge.

Please note: Salary advertised includes a car allowance of £3,420 per annum.
